Custom RG350DX

Ok so I bought the Fernandes Sustainer Kit Fsk-401 and I figured that it would be set up just like Vai's FLO after its installed.

But instead.. the Luthier came up with the idea of making a custom pickguard to hide some route work.. I was kind of Erie about the idea.. But I figured he knew what he was talking about. I photoshopped his idea (or what I think is his idea).

Heres what I think he was telling me what it will look like,

Heres what we talked about

-Buy a new Mother of pearl (White) pickguard and cut it to shape so it covers up the extra spot on the neck pickup area from Humbucker to the single coil driver of the sustainer.

-Put the Intensity knob where the tone knob is, and put the tone knob inbetween the Volume and intensity

-The Selector switch will remain the same

-The sustainer toggle switches will be on the pickguard, but the pickguard covers up a front route.

As soon as my guitar is back from getting this sustainer installed I will take a picture and tell you all how it sounds. I might even make a video.

I didn't like the idea much either, but I've grown to like it a little. Because knowone I know has this. And also I think the output jack is in the way of putting the toggle switches on the body where Steves is.

It took me about two minutes, but I seriously think that the concept is cool. Maybe the photoshop concept is lacking a few black dots by the trem for the screws.

Thanks guys, I'm hoping the knobs wont be in the way of eachother when playing. It looks a little tight.

Looks stratty. Shouldn't be an issue if you like it. You'll probably adapt.

Re: Custom RG350DX

I called the luthier today. He says the pickguard hasn't even came in yet (after 7 days so far). So he hasnt even touched my guitar since last monday when I brought it.

I'll probably make an All Alone - Satriani video. Or a Solo Melody of Still loving you - Scorpions.
