Customising my RG550

I've recently bought an RG550, early 90s with the old style neck joint & Lo Pro edge. At the moment it's Metallic Wine Red with a maple board & black headstock. Within the next week or so I'm going to sand the whole thing down, back to bare wood. I was planning on a BSP finish (Burnt stained Purple), but have since gone off the idea of purple. I'm still going to be staining it, Colour suggestions welcomed. I'll be posting 'before' pics shortly. Cheers.

heres my bsb 550l that im working on......stained it bayou green.....used my heat gun to add the black marks........then clear coated it using minwax polyurethane from spray can 9 coats....

had jennies pickguard make a brushed aluminum pickguard for it....
ordered all the electronics.going to be set up just like a js model.....fred and paf joe.....with three way toggle......

all im needing is a neck
