I went and snagged another RG off Craigslist last night.

'89 560 for $100...

Unfortunately, the seller did not mention that the fretboard had the last 10 frets scalloped, or that someone has scribbled all over the body with a sharpie.

However, the neck is straight and it is a nice piece of 20 year old basswood. All the hardware is in good shape, so the basics are there for a nice guitar.

No "before" pics (just another RG), but I tore it apart last night and bagged it until I decide what to do with it.

That was my Friday night....

I think I have gone from "frustrated player" to "frustrated luthier"...lol


I originally was thinking a "fixer upper" that I could flip, but when I go there and saw it up close...

Oh well, another project...I see quilted maple in my future.

Well there are always plenty of guitars that need to be saved.

Speaking of which, you're familiar with that PBS show "This Old House", right? Well what if you did a variant of it called "This Old Guitar"? You could have people ship you guitars to get "
renovated", go to different locations across the country, and find bargains on CL, ****, pawnshops and the like.

The only catch is the guitars have to be projects and not just basic set-ups or restrings. The show would at least have to fit in the standard 22 minute format.

Oh well, another project...I see quilted maple in my future.

Ayrton, if you flip it, list on the JEMsite just incase I have some cash, however unlikely that'll be. I've been looking into getting a backup 560. Okay okay, no not a backup, 'cause I've only played 1 live show in Japan and I only have 1 more coming, but because I love 560s and I just want another one.

No flipping this one I am afraid. I could part it out, but I think I have a plan for it now.

I have a few guitars ahead of it, but I think the outcome will be cool.

I have another that will make it's big debut this weekend.
