Difference between 440R and 540R

what's the major difference ih this 2 guitars? i noticed that the 440r has V2 on the bridge, and the 540r has the f1... is this it? they are the same on body shape and neck, bridge, etc?

P.S: 1st topic, hope you can understand what I wrote, I'm brazilian

Afair the 540 was shipped with the IBZUSA PUs (DiMarzio-Made), while the 440 had selfmade PUs.

just this? so it's basically the same guitar, but with different pups?

I found one for a good price here in brazil, hope I can get it :P
edge tremolo and V2/S1 pups (similar to the new Rg's??)... so nice

Additionaly, the (early) 540 had the backstop (ibanez trem setter), and the 440 didn't.
Anyway, I got a late '80s 440, and it's one of my favourites.

Also, '91 540s had the Lo Pro edge, while the 440s in that year still had the original edge.. which isn't a drawback in my opinion.

Ibanez 440R of my friend with my 1997 RG550LTD with super wizard neck

the 440R's pickups were changed to dimarzios. Fred and PAF Pro specifically. just like the JS series
