Differences in the JPM models

I was just interested in what the differences are in the JPM series of guitars. I noticed that they generally sell for very different prices ie JPM-P1 vs JPM-P4.

The first jpm100 also had a different neck pickup!! Norton Lite (not in production anymore) vs. Air Norton for all the other JPM...

Also the JPM 90ham has a flamed maple top and ebony board...

They are all excellent guitars regardless of the finish! they are my personal favorites!!!

i think the P1 priced much higher because it's limited only to 250 pieces ( i read the ad at GW). but I'm not sure how much the make the P4.
I love the P3 among those, but nothing can beat the 90 HAM.

There were also some finish differences on the back of the necks. Some were lacquered and some had more of an unfinished/satin feel (later models I believe). Rich may know more about that. But I've either owned or played them all and that was a distinct difference I noticed.

The 90th sounds somewhat brighter due to the ebony board and flamed maple top.

Nope! just the 90HAM JPM, all others are Rosewood.

The 90th is brighter??? I played a P4 once and I thought it was bright enough!

I'd love to get a JPM-90HAM and a JCRG-Art1! They complete themselves perfectly!
