distortion problem

i have a ibanez RG3120TW Prestige (TZ and Paf Pro) and i have problems when using distorted sounds. lead especialy. what i hear is a instability of notes (not specific one).
this leads to lack of sustain and unconfortable general playing. i'll post some samples to hear what i'm talking about.

> my pickups aren't too close to the strings
> the strings are new
> i use a good cable (monster rock)
> now i use a digitech gsp1101
> the problem was the same with podxt, bossgt8, tc electronic konnect24D & guitar rig etc.
> i tested in another room, another wall socket and is the same..
> i tested with a ups (battery)
> i locked the trem with a piece of wood but no changes

it doesn't let me to post .mp3 files.

Re: distortion problem

Do you mean the notes are fluttering a bit, as if there's a fan between you and the sound? If so, then it's as simple as tuning. Sometimes the strings are on a specific tension where they make that flutterign sound (usually when they're on the very edge of being in tune)

Re: distortion problem

could be fret issue, are your notes crappy even when playing the guitar without an amp? Is there a lot of buzz?

Re: distortion problem

My mention of the fluttering notes is just an idea, but it might be it. When I said on the very edge of being in tune, I meant the VERY edge. In other words it will turn up on the tuner as perfect because it it literally a microscopic turn of the tuning key from being in tune.

Re: distortion problem

Could be the intonation. If it is happening especially on leads.
