that is quite possibly the ugliest finish i've ever seen
i could probly simulate that just by going nuts with a router...
u could probly do something similar with spackle or something like that... spread it on and let it not get smooth at all.. paint right over it...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Dude, the 7VWH is one of the best if not the best selling jem. It is ok to disagree, but don't go and fly off the handle with some crazy remark like that.

Yes the 7v series to me is the best by far. I have a SBL thou, I don't like gold hardwear, and I like sparkles

I believe the JEM90HAM is done with laser-cut metal templates and sandblasting.

Well for your information mr statistical genius, I've got both and most people (players and non-players) that come to my place think the 7VWH looks way too tacky and consider the 90HAM to be off this world and really something special. Some of them hate Jems in general. Nobody has ever said something bad about the UV...figures. When I start playing them critics usually shut up because they do sound great.

Indeed, and has been discussed more than a few times, Not really the kind of finish for the D.I.Y enthusiast (sp?) too much whisky again !!!

Re: DIY Jem90HAM finish
Also take into consideration that the 7VWH sells more because it's the closest to what Vai plays. If Vai wasn't playing the thing, I doubt it would sell near as much, that gold hardware looks butt ugly on the white IMO. Considering "EVO" had black hardware most of it's life, I think Vai might've agreed with me at one point.
Talking to people outside the Ibanez comunity, the 7VWH is usually refered to as 'gaudy'.
Of course, what do I know, I wouldn't buy any Jem except the 10th(because it had
neck binding
, something I believe any guitar over $1.5k should have).

Re: DIY Jem90HAM finish
Oh ok i guess i just read you wrong. You're saying from your experience that people like your 90th better than the 7vwh. I get ya. No hard feelings. :-)

Well I do tend to get a bit minimalistic in my posts...I am happy that you do like the 7VWH :-p
