Edge II, better than III?

I have an interest in the RG350DX as that seems to be the current available Ibanez production guitar for the lefties and I'm hoping that this new edge II will be more durable than the Edge III was, does anybody have some info/personal experience with these versions and how are they different from previous edge's aside from the classic Edge and LoPro?

Seems like a budget ZR Edge model.

The Current bridge is not an Edge II, It's an Edge Zero II. It is based on the Edge Zero, which is the current bridge used on Prestige Ibanez guitars. If you do a search over this forum you'll see that the Edge Zero II is getting a lot of positive feedback from users.

Re: Edge II, better than III?

I have never had an Edge III guitar, but I have an Edge Zero 2 on my RG350MYZ and an Edge Zero 2-7 on my RG927 and haven't had any troubles with either of them so far.

The 350DX has been replaced with the 450DX this year. The only difference I can see is that they no longer come with the ZPS. I know some folks take out the bar anyway, but I really like the adjustment wheel. Makes setting up the trem much easier.

Re: Edge II, better than III?

It's a damn good bridge. Better than a cheap Floyd and WAY better than an Edge III.

Also, just for the fun of tossing around info, there has never been an Edge II. There was, however, an Edge PRO II. Which was, like this Edge Zero II, the cheaper version of a Prestige bridge.

It's actually what the Edge III replaced.

Re: Edge II, better than III?

Thanks for the info so far, the only draw backs then for this model seem to just be a matter of taste then as far as I can tell.

I'd like to get a chance to play that bridge and get a feel for it. I love the smooth return and lower profile of the Edge and the Edge Pro but I've always liked the older Schaller Floyd you might find on a vintage Charvel import or the Nuno Washburns, that is a tough bridge but I like the compact size of it and this newer bridge kind of has that going on.

At least the lefties have a non-black production model, maple board would of looked better with the pick guard matching the truss and back plates as well.

There has, actually; it came on the Vinnie Moore sigs. It was the same as the Edge but without fine tuners and with saddles whose radius could be adjusted via grub screws.
