Springs can't bind on themselves, it's physically impossible. If they're making contact with anything in the rout then that will affect return, but only you know what you're talking about.

Also.. if there's any play in the post.. which you'd only really be able to determine from removing the bridge and examing the post themselves and their bushings/insterts.. if there any play in there.. there goes your tuning as well... OR if there's a dinged up knife edge.. OR.. if the V notch on the stud/post where the knife edges pivot.. if those post have a defect in the notch where the edges pivot.. that too could cause you tuning issues... there are quite a few things that could be the culprit and without removing and examining every single little possible detail.. now way to just jump to a conclusion on what it is.
Yeah.. Well. Let's see if it helps adding springs to the guitar.

Re: Edge pro tuning problem. Is the EZII better?

Adding a spring will make it worse.

The spring need a little more extension to stretch them out a bit.

This is so hard to put in to txt how to fix this.

Try this-

Loosen the lock nuts and turn each tuner a full turn for starters.
Then tune the guitar to it self, even if it is to high or low in pitch.
It may be at A#ish a little or it may be in the same exact place it was before.
Then lock it down and try the trem again to see if it stays in tune.
If it doesn't, repeat the process going a half turn at a time.

You'll find it will stray in tune without too many turns or the tuners.
You'll be extending the springs getting the coils off each other so they don't bind.
Once you have it in tune, now check with a tuner to see if it is overall to high or low in pitch.
Then turn the screws in the back to get the guitar exactly at A440, tuned to pitch.

The hard part here is maintaining the trem angle at the same time.

If you have not done a lot of setup work you'll have a hard time with this.

I've had this same problem myself and the springs were the problem.

put your springs in a v-pattern, install locking studs, lube the knife edges, tighten the nut hold-down screws (not the nut pads), enjoy a fully functional bridge.

I followed your instructions, and it didn't help at all. The edge pro is probably a good bridge but definitly not worth all the trouble I've tried your fix. And the guide of Ibanez Rulez, the bridge is paralel to the body, strings are fully streched out, locking nuts are tight, no loose screws in saddles. I don't understand why this bridge can't stay in tune

It could also be in need of locking studs or the inserts are loose in the body.......without pictures of it, there's no way to know.

Is the nut top mounted or rear mounted??

NVM, I just looked it up....it's top mount. Have you checked the two phillips head screws under the pressure pads on the nut?? are they loose? possibly overtightened and no longer seated properly??

How the hell are you not fretting out???? especially on pull-ups??? Raise the bridge a good 4-5mm, shim the neck, raise your pickups (I'm sure they can't co any lower), lube the studs (since you have to turn them anyway), and re-set your intonation........that should make a MASSIVE difference.

I don't know. I got the guitar in this condition, and since it's a low profile I've never questioned it. But I can see it pretty bad now you say it, so yeah. I'm going to raise the bridge and pickups and adjust the rest and then see what happens Thanks man!
