Re: Frank Gambale Pre-FGM series
I bought your 540. I've had an itch for a DY S and this seemed like a fair price considering the fret level. Didn't see this thread until today. Will I have any neck pocket issues to sort out when setting it up?

Re: Frank Gambale Pre-FGM series
You should not. I put a 1/16ths basswood shim in there. It actually played very well without it but I felt the action could be lower. I did a quick setup on it before packing and it was fine. I definitely would have worked on it a bit more but the new owner (you) may have liked a compleat different setup.

Re: Frank Gambale Pre-FGM series
Thanks - If I had realized you wanted to sell it to buy the blue
FGM
we could have worked something out outside of the bay. I went through a similar setup when I put a 2001 MIJ neck on a RG350 DY body. The neck sat deep into the pocket and I had to lower the trem to get the action just right. I actually love that Frankenstein and was thinking about doing something similar with the 25th S. That's how I ran across your post. I found your project post.

Re: Frank Gambale Pre-FGM series
I debated whether or not to throw it up here first but for a quick sale, I figured the bay would be the best place to do that. But the fees suck. In the end, I'll probably loose a bit of money on it. Never thought I'd like a yellow guitar but that one was pretty slick.
I didn't want to mention the blue FGM on here as I didn't want anyone else bidding on it!
I was ready for a bidding war on it but it never materialized. There was only one other bidder. I know the guy gigged with it and it was his #2 (he owns a second quilt FGM400) so it was a player but that's ok.

......again.......you bastard! ha ha
I don't blame you,...but for me there is only one particular FGM i want and they never show up for sale so I'm guessing there are very limited numbers around...one day.

Which one? The quilt? Or the 200?

Speaking of
Frank Gambale
, that custom white 7 string on eBay right now is amazing. Really expensive, but really cool. Pyramids on an S is really cool.

Re: Frank Gambale Pre-FGM series
Yeah it was pretty bright but I was honestly digging it quite a bit. I can see why people like the older models. They seem easier to play, especially vs. the indonesian stuff.

Re: Frank Gambale Pre-FGM series
I saw a FGM300 DY for sale a while ago, but the price was crazy. So I passed.
