Re: gax tuner replacement quiestion

iv got a gax70 and i changed the tuners for grovers... the only thing is that the grovers had a little screw that held them in place while the ibanez ones had little bits of metal that held them in place. i just gently drilled a small hole at each tuner after marking it with the grovers test fitted.

as far as i know, most tuners will need this.

mccon.mark is right, there is the very light modification you may need to do, but it will be worth it. Planet waves make some tuners worth looking into as far as mild upgrades go

Both of you are incorrect and obviously haven't researched tuners enough.

Well, considering you have to do no modifications to install either the sperzels or the schallers, that's the route I would go. The second plus is that both of them are locking tuners and will be better than any grovers by reducing slippage on the strings every time you bend them.

Re: gax tuner replacement quiestion

what is the post diameter on the stock tuners? i searched ibanez and google, but could not find this info anywhere? most tuners are 10mm, and i would rather not have to drill out the holes.

tnx

i really like the stienberg gearless. 40:1 ratio
