ghostrider?

Were these models rare or something?

Hardly ever see these for sale on evil*** or anywhere, especially compared to the number of RGs that are pumped through the system.

What's the deal?

Rarer than most RGs, and they look good. Made in Korea back then might be why some avoid them. But as I recall there was one MIJ model of it as well... The 520. I could be mistaken. I have never tried one, or seen one in real life. So I really don't know if they are any good.

Also made in Korea. Had one. Pretty guitar, very comfortable to play but MIK quality. With a couple of mods (tuners, pots, and pups) its a keeper.

The one Shawn Lane had was made by LACS, so the GR520 can not be compared at all with it.

My thoughts exactly. I don't like symetrical cutaways either.

Re: ghostrider?

i own a 320 and a 520, both MIK but they're pretty nice guitars, very straightforward and simple design. the only con is that they're a bit unbalanced because of the short upper horn, which moves the strap attaching point toward the bridge side. this usually causes lack of balance. i put ToneZones on both, and they just scream!

GR520TG
(DiMarzio ToneZone P90 at the bridge, no tone knob)

GR320BK
(DiMarzio ToneZone bridge & neck, no tone knob)

Re: ghostrider?

Love the green one... however as far as i know from catalogs:

520: dual humbuckers with split block inlays

320: P90s

220: Tele bridge

Re: ghostrider?

wow that's true, my bad, i thought the "highest" the class the highest the number, as Ibanez always did, but not this time. damn Ibanez

but seems like there's still a bit of confusion about numbers: in the 1995 USA catalog we can see an arch-top P90 220, while in the 1994 USA catalog there's a Tele bridged 320. so the correct model numbers would be:

520: H/H w/split block inlays

320: Tele bridge

220: P90

am i correct?

Re: ghostrider?

Correct (except for 1994 )

Still, really cool lil axes if you tweak them right, and it sure looks like you did!
