Halloween Treat: Kotzen Horror Guitar #2

Well, I REALLY wanted to get my second Richie Kotzen clone finished for Halloween, but with my work schedule and some last minute travel, it didn't quite happen. I've got some touch up work to do on the finish, final polish, shielding and wiring on the body, then I've got to finish the headstock and scallop the last four frets, do a fret level and polish, and get this beast all put together. As it sits, the front has a decent polish on it, while the back's still in the raw after wet sanding.

As usual, thanks to Brian Calvert at UniversalJems for the custom DiMarzios (Mo'Joe and PAFJoe)!

Anyway, I mocked it up to share with you guys in a reasonably seasonable fashion. I'll post pics of this one finished with my other Kotzen clone (which I debuted last Halloween) when I get it all done. Next year: the Kotzen neck-thru!!!

Here's the front:

Here's the back:

And here's the original:

It's not perfect, but it's pretty darn close. I'm happy enough with it!

Yeah, you gotta not think about Jack's nose in your navel while you're playing or it's just too creepy.

OMG, that must be the worst "graphical customizing" job done to a Radius ever. The others are, umm, let's say, equally interesting. But there's no accounting for taste.

I dig the "American Master"-style neckthrough construction on the first one, though!

Way ahead of ya! Here's the one I did last year:

That's an old pic - I've got different knobs on it now that are closer to the clear/pink bell knobs on Kotzen's. I'm also doing a second body just like this one where I've made some refinements to the graphic. I'll post that one when it's done.

I agree about the radius. I think it's so bad because most of the graphic is just stickers, not custom airbrush work.

I'm going to do the neck-thru, and that'll be it for my RK clones. I just don't care for the others that much. I've got the graphic for the neck-thru about 75% done, but it's a bitch because of all the detail!

Awesome stuff, and those are definitely cool guitars. Love the old horror movie themed graphics.
