Hardtail Ibanez

Hey guys, I am looking at getting a hardtail just to mess around on and I was wonder what 24 fret hardtails you guys would recommend. I'd love a PGM but I don't think I can afford that for awhile, I was looking at the non-prestige Ibanezes but I was wondering if the feel of my 2570 and 1527 would out do it so much that I'd never play it.

Should I just wait it out until I can get a PGM or what?

Thanks

Nothing can out do the 1527 neck.

Re: Hardtail Ibanez

I might think of looking for a used PGM on the Internets. I'm hoping we might see a fixed RG1570 one day and have been considering trying to find a good used PGM301. I personally don't want the f-holes, though.
The RG321, the RG2EX1, and the RG3EXQM are great guitars but it would be cool to have something nicer; and with an HSH config.

I thought the RGA321 had a a wizard (one), not a wizard 2?

The RGA321 does have a Wizard I neck. I think he was referring to the RG321.

If you are just looking for a nice, no frills, solid hard tail to play around with at minimal cost, I recommend the RG321. Also, if you like doing mods, the RG321 is like a blank canvas.

Re: Hardtail Ibanez

The SZ520 I have isn't bad thought it had to have some upgrades. If you don't mind LP shapes, get an old LP copy or one from the PF series.

I wouldn't wish that hardtail JEM on anyone. :P

yep... RG321's have Wizard II while the RGA321 is a Wizard Prestige.
also, i think RG321's use mahogany bodies as well.

Re: Hardtail Ibanez

The 321 DEFINITELY has a Wizard II and has a mahogany body...shameless plug, got one for sale in the Classifieds section.

It's a great guitar. I take it to work to teach 5 days a week and it serves me fine.

Re: Hardtail Ibanez

Maybe I'll check out a 321, I really need to keep the money down and a hardtail is really something I'd like for gigs and messing around.

I sorta like the Rgt6exfx even though the paintjob is a little flashy. It at least has real emgs and offset dot inlay. I'm not too into emg's but w/e.

Thanks guys, I'll be checking around.
