Has anyone got an RGHRG1?

i'm getting a new six string and i like the look of the H.R. GIGER

and i'm wondering what are they like in terms of playability and finish. i will be instantly replacing the pickups so the sound is not that big of an issue

in AUSTRALIA these retail for $1995 but i have found somewhere selling them for $1495

i'm either considering this or an RG2570E but i'm not a fan of the silver colour

cheers

Re: Has anyone got an RGHRG1?

in HK, they retail for less then 1000au
Aus probably got the crapiest pricing in the world. You try to get something in, you get taxed off ridculously as well

anyway..back to the topic...i tried it one in hk, the base of the guitar is just a normal RGT42DX, korean made..with the artwork over it...it looks cool, as a piece of art, but after about 10mins play, i found that part of the paintjob has got printed on my black shirt already...imagine u can playing a gig and u started to sweat under those hot lightings...bad idea.....so in terms of playability, i'll deduct marks from it...if you really need a necktru, just get a rgt42dx will serve better....

Re: Has anyone got an RGHRG1?

the G1 is not easy to find. the G2 version has a different pickup configuration and is readily available but doesn't come with a case - at least not in the US. not sure what to make of the finish coming off?
i really like the RGT42dxfx which is the fixed bridge version and now they even make a couple stock EMG versions.
the lavender top isn't my choice for colors on the FM version. be nice to see some reds, greens, tobacco bursts, ect. make there way out of the factory in the future.

For that amount of money id just buy another prestigue, maybe save a little and buy an rgt2xx or rgt3xx if you want a neck through. dont buy anything korean but.

Well if you divide chinas population by australias you get 50.
So the market for guitars in china is 50 times bigger than in australia and they would sell 50 times more guitars. Id far rather live with taxes than comunism and coruption.

the RGT320Q is $5000! and i hate the look of the RGT220H&A

anyways i have decided to keep my 7 string so i'm not gonna buy another 6 string at the moment cause i think 3 guitars is quite enough for now
