Hello RG421!

The UPS chap just handed me my new RG421... first impression out of the box: Holy Crap. What a beauty. A few quick strums on it unplugged... Holy Crap, The Sequel. Resonates and rings better than some acoustic guitars i've played. Plug it in... Holy Crap, The Reunion Tour. What a monstrous diff no trem and string-thru makes. I thought i loved my 520.

Pardon me now while i go change undies and sponge the drool out of my pickup cavities... More gloating and glowing later... so be prepared.

:P :P :P

I'm gettin' me one... that's all I know. I'd love to get one and swirl it!

The other guitar player in my band has one with an Air Norton and Air Zone in it--it absolutely screams!

just a little more gushing...

Wow... I can't say enough what an incredible value this 421 is. It was an incredible value at its regular selling price, at $299 it's just unbelievable. (sad tho it is they're disco'd).

I hate buying guitars sight unseen, but i must say mine from xx.com is absolutely flawless. I literally cannot find one single problem or blemish at all, period. That's amazing. There's always at least one minor flaw of some kind.

The WizII neck is gorgeous. Very, very similar to a Wiz. Very similar. Neck pocket is perfect. I love the binding. Fret job and inlays are perfect. I knew the V7/8 rocked from my 520 but in a hardtail they totally kick my arse.

And again... I don't know if all the 421s are like this or if i just got lucky, but the body resonance on this thing is nothing short of amazing. I've owned string-thru hardtails before (and own another right now) but i have never, ever played a guitar that resonates like this thing does. You can literally FEEL every note. It's incredible, that's all. I'm stunned.

Ok, ok... i'm done... i'll shut up now (for a day or 2 maybe ) If you are even remotely THINKING about buying one of these, go and do it NOW! Now, before they're gone!

If anyone's got an extra few thousand dollars and an RG-421, you should really check out that Transperformance Self-Tuning bridge. They're just nice as hell.

sort of. I have the RG421 and the SC420. No 520 though. I almost got a 520, but I ended up getting more recording equipment. If one comes up on Evilbay for a decent price I might still pick it up.

Just ordered mine from Musician's Friend yesterday-got the last blue one they had in stock! Got them to match the $299.00 price as well, plus free shipping. Can't wait to get it! Already got the Tone Zone & Air Norton for it

the transperformance bridge is a nifty gadget that allows you to use different tunings with the flip of a switch. Jimmy Page, and the dude from the tea party use one to great effect as well as the dude from collective soul "ed roland maybe"? Anywya its far TOO expensive though. For the money i think I would be satisfied witha well setup steinberger transtrem guitar. Just wish I could get one in chrome

The Transperformance guys are in Ft. Collins, CO, about an hours drive form me. Actually went to their shop a couple of years ago to check the stuff out. VERY cool toys! Extremely intricate system too: basically an on-board computer that controls a whole mess of gears and such. You program your tunings into it (holds well over 100 in memory) and you can save presets to a built in keypad on the guitar. You can literally change tunings on the fly and seamlessly in mid-song. Cool guys, and an amazing invention! Too bad it's about $2K, plus you supply the guitar (they started with a Les Paul model and a Tele model, but I think they can retrofit just about any solid-body guitar now).
