Re: help indentify this guitar

Well, unfortunately the email bounced back after about 10 minutes. I included the links to Nuno's pics and the link to this thread.

Instead, I made a post on IbanezCollectors.com.

Re: help indentify this guitar

guys, call it coincidence!
a guy just wrote me asking for info about this guitar:

and... yes! yet another mistery RG! and it's sweet in white! i told him we don't know yet what it is, but we're supposing it to be a "pre-Edge" "beta version" RG model

Re: help indentify this guitar

I'm guessing I'm probably wrong but could these 22 fret RG's be some type of Reb Beach model prototype?

Reb had a 22 fret RG and we know he didn't really like the Edge trem so maybe that could explain the OFR type trem.

maybe?

i'm sure no. this unknown RG came out way before Ibanez joined Reb in their endorsers list.

there are many, many Ibanez guitars we don't and we won't know about. this is because they used to experiment a lot and try to get many prototypes into production models. i think this is one of them, and probably just a very few know about (those being Ibanez employees or designers or so).

yea he's gonna send me some other pics later, maybe. he also assured me, upon request, to not modify her in any way, except for the pickups, of course. phew, another rare diamond saved

Re: help indentify this guitar

How do you guys know it's not a mutt?
Also, weren't there other trem prototypes when the RG came out? I remember seeing something like the white one in the History of Ibanez book. Or maybe I'm just remembering all wrong....

don't know if they were actually protoype trems, but i do know this is a Floyd Rose II.

guys, the white RG guy sent me other pics, it looks like the pickups are DiMarzios, pretty much identical anyway. i'll be posting them tomorrow, gotta go now, sorry!
