Help with customizing an RG560

I just scored a 1991 RG560 in Lipstick Red and I'm planning on changing out the pickups pretty soon. I was wanting some ideas as far as colored pickups go. I don't want black, it's to boring for my taste. I'm also replacing the knobs and switch tip. I've done the V-RG Builder but I'm just not sure on what would look the best.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Okay you could order some Bobbin Toppers to give you a better idea. $8 will kit out your pickups.

On a red guitar I would go for a combination of colours. Lurid Pink, Yellow, green, purple. The choice is your's. I like 'em loud and retro!!!

Re: Help with customizing an RG560

I'd say go for green and yellow pickups, for the most impact I'd suggest getting the brightest, most contrasting colours and I think DiMarzio's yellows and greens would work with the pink/red of the guitar

And I figured this is more about the look of the guitar than the sound of the pickups, so I've left the thread in this forum.

Thanks for leaving it here, it is more about the look than the sound right now.

So would you do the humbucker in Yellow, middle in Green and neck in Yellow for example?

I'll have to think about the green, I don't want to look like it's Christmas every time I play it.

Here's my take:

... Strawberries and Cream?

... NASCAR or The Flash?

... i don't mind this but doesn't quite "stand out"

Stratodiablo :P

Re: Help with customizing an RG560

bobbin toppers are pretty cheap, but also cheap looking. I have a few sets
and am not that impressed with them. I would go with either white or a neon
color for your hardware.

the pickups will have to be replaced anyway so I will be going with something neon from Dimarzio.

I like the one I just did but I can't get it sized right. It has a blue humbucker, yellow mid and purple neck.

I know but I was wanting some help with some ideas.

I'm leaning towards the Strawberries & Cream or the Nascar one with yellow like Reguv760 came up with.
