Yes, yes, I know, I know... Oh dear. They're all over the yard and stuff. Been hiding some of them in the walls. Time to sell, time to sell... No, no, I won't sell you, little S540, my precious! You were my first and I'll always love you. And not you, my darling BL1025, 'cause you're charming in your beat up, trashed sort of way. And RX750, you're an undiscovered wonder. Don't worry about the RX in front of your name, we'll see about legally changing it someday. Maybe you'll be just "750". But as for all the rest of you, behave or you'll all be gone to some humid climate where you're certain to warp!! Hear me? That goes for you too, JS1000. Don't think you're special just cause of that Joe something logo on your headstock. You're just a glorified 2x4 with a couple of fancy-ass switches, just like the rest of 'em! And you, S2540NT with all your gold hardware and figured top. Just tell me, why does that S470 (made in Korea, mind you!) play better than you do? Yes, yes, it doesn't stay in tune very long, but that can be fixed...

<break>

Hmm, OK, here's my lame excuse for this indulgence. I bought ALL of these guitars (well, except 2) with the income from selling a Soundcraft PA that I spent 4 years paying for. I just kept the cash separate and committed it to my liquid guitar fund. I've sold 4 of 'em since that post, and 6 more are on the way out (single buyer for all). That's better, right? I'm working it down to 4-5 players and maybe 1 or 2 project guitars. That seems reasonable, right?

Hey BucketBot, I can see your house from my roof. Look at this SV470 nailed to the wall. Oh crap, the squirrels have been chewing on it... One more gone

Are they that different from one another that it justifies having thousands and thousands of dollars invested in multiple versions of the same model? (Not to mention the acquisition/loss costs for those of you with high turnover in your collections.)

I love guitars... they're a passion for me, like most people here. But i want a lot of variety in my collection. I usually seek out guitars for a specific purpose, or to achieve a specific sound. I want one of every flavour, not just every variation of my favourite flavour.
Just curious, that's all.

I agree with you here, I only have one Ibanez, and the reason I got it was because it (was there) was different from my Les paul, mustang, strat, etc. It opens up new venues of sound and experimentation!!!

oh yes, i know that will change. I have 1 Ibanez exactly 1 year ago. I own 4 today, and I'm really worried I can't stop buying them.
