Thumbs up

How much would you pay for an RG220 and an RG570?

RG220: neck broke at the headstock-neck attachment joint and was put together by a dude and now the neck is pretty much ****ed, but repairable.

body in good condition, comes with EMG 81s. floyd rose licensed trem. switch and pots.

in gray

how much would you pay this for? (dude wants to sell it to me)

and for the RG570: headstock says 99, AANJ, comes with the original Edge trem, newly replaced studs and sharpened knife-edges, EMG81's, switch, pots, neck is great, frets are alomst completely perfect, very little play time, but has a finish crack on the neck joint.

in gray

how much would you pay for this one? (I'm planning on selling this)

I wouldn't buy the 220 for anything above $150, given that the neck is "repairable". For the price to repair, you're looking at the possibility of getting a more manageable guitar on the bay.

The 570 for $450 I would think though you will likely get varied offers. The neck crack is inconsequential, in my opinion.

Yeah, I personally would avoid the 220 not only because of the neck crack but simply because IT'S A 220 which is a super low level guitar with very little re-sale value anyway. I would also agree with around $450 for the 570.

You don't need a 220, so don't buy it. It is worth as much as the pickups will bring.

I'd say no chance. Tell him to sell his 220 himself, and call you when he's got cash to buy the 570 with. Don't go for a deal that leaves you with that canoe paddle instead of cash Offer to give him the URL for that auction site, if it helps!

Don't sell. Keep the 570. I have a new 220, and love it, but dude, the other is a 570. Keep it.

Yeah, you'll definitely regret selling the 570...unless you sold it towards a JEM or a J-custom or something. And DEFINITELY don't take a low grade guitar like that for a trade.
