Howdy all

I've recently quit going to Harmony Central and just wanted to find some nice music and gear discussion. I own 2 Ibanez axes; a brand new RGT42, that I got for $299 and free shipping, and my beloved 1995 Ibanez Talman, which was my first electric guitar ever. I'm really digging the Jetking and if I was single, I'd probably buy it :-) I really love how Ibanez can provide great quality and you don't have to pay through the nose for them either.

Single shmingle - get it!

I actually saw the RGT42 (the red sparkle?) yesterday, very solid feel.

Welcome

I've never had a Floyd Rose axe before so I wanted to get one as sort of an axe I can go crazy on with solos. I've read that the new Ibanez whammies allow you to install the strings without cutting off the ends of the strings. How did they design that?

You left H-C eh? I don't see why all forums are so mutually exclusive, I frequent 4 forums daily! But from what I understand...

Instead of the saddle having a 'floor' in the lock block area it just goes down to holes in the tone block, and the strings anchor in there, while they're locking in place in the block. Not THAT ground breaking, I dont see why no one came up with it already!

But yeah those '02 TRS'es are crap. Avoid. If only I had followed my own advice ...

Bird, I was just getting tired of all the political rants there. I majored in Political Science back when I was an idealistic youngster, but I have more important things to worry about these days; like paying rent and making sure my wife's medical problems are taken care of. I just wanted to find a place where I can talk about music and the guitar.

Hi eric!! Welcome to the site!! I also fall into the married with cash flow problems category!! However I still have managed to aquire 13 guitars, (#14 is on the way) and a whole slew of junk to make me sound like I know what I'm doin!! and I have to agree, for the money, they are the Sh!t!!! My last 2 Electrics have been Ibbies and I got an Ibie elec/acc. for my sis when she wanted to start playin. (I like it better than my Washburn that cost me twice as much )

Hey what part of the Bay Area you from? I lived in the City from 1983-85 then lived in Pacifica from 85-93, until I joined the air force. I miss the Bay Area a lot. Too expensive for me these days though.
