Re: Ibanez 2011 Line-up?
Yeah but what's the real difference between one LP "sig" and another?
I think the most out-there sig has been Buckethead's LP. Say what you will about Ibanez, at least a lot of their sigs seem to have a unique quality. Now that Broderick white RGA 7 string with the reverse headstock?!? Do want!

Ibanez = FAIL! Big time.
Two guys representing the brand well with some of the best LACS versions of Sabers and RGA's an Ibanez fan could ever wish for!
We sat, salivated and waited for these to be made into sigs for purchase, truly excited, and Ibanez could not recognize the opportunity AGAIN.
Ibanez,WHO ARE YOU?!.......certainly not the same company that could not put a foot wrong in the late 80's early 90's!
This rant can also be applied to the prototype, neck thru 540P that you have sitting around that you won't release and the mostly non existant reverse headstocks on the high end guitars.
A sad day for the company IMO.

Re: Ibanez 2011 Line-up?
His white trans quilted guitars are amazing.
I am disappointed by this news, but from what I have been hearing, Chris was really pissed at the RGA7 that came out last year which had a few things unique to Chris' LACS seven, but they wouldn't call it a sig model for him.
Edit: I would kill for some reverse headstocks, too.

Actually yeah, now you mention it, I recall the PII reverse proto that the suits wouldn't go for.
I've not bought a brand new Ibanez in years and keep hunting down the old ones and looking at customs. Either Ibanez has lost touch with modern rock music, or I've lost touch with modern rock music
Still they've probably got a marketing team who knows more about what
actually
sells (or shifts units) rather than what dream guitars get discussed on the internet, by a handful of longterm nerdy fans.
Might just treat myself to one of those flip flop Xiphos guitars beforethey dry up too

Bummer that Broderick's white custom RGA won't see the light of day.

Oh, it will. Certainly now that CB is not involved they can pass it off cheaper, but still at higher-then-production costs

I have a feeling that Chris leaving Ibanez isn't going to put a dent into the Ibanez popularity... but thats just my opinion.....

Re: Ibanez 2011 Line-up?
I don't think so either, It would take a lot for a fanboy like me to buy a jackson lol. And I dont think some kid at guitar center would A) Pay that much for an oddly specific sig or B) Be at all in the know or affected otherwise.
I don't see how it would "really" effect IBZ

Wonder what Dave said when CB showed up for band practice with a shiny new Jackson. Probably something obscene.

Re: Ibanez 2011 Line-up?
But the second somebody calls this something stupid like "BroderickGate" I'm gonna go out and buy exclusively from First-act!
Although, I almost went Jackson for a while because they are the only brand that has a stock guitar with a sustainiac.

I think it sucks that Chris left but maybe they will use his guitar as a template for some newer RGAs but that's just a dream...

Yeah, he said damn it, I wish I could play Jackson's again but my pride won't let me so I'll just keep playing knock offs of my old KV1 sig.

Re: Ibanez 2011 Line-up?
I'm liking the look of the RG30Mz -- the great looks of the RG350YM, without the Edge 3. If they hold the line on price, could be worth it.
