I'd hate to keep you in suspense only to get let down later. Unfortunately, nothing better than straight Indo ;/

I like the fact the neck is bound too (until I need a fret replacement anyway).

Re: IBANEZ 2013 (who has the inside scoop)

Will we finally get rid of the sustain killing, low mass tremolo block, ball bearing mechanism using, inferior ZR Trem?

I really hope so. I tried it, and it totally killed sustain on my S570 compared to my older S470 with knive edges and pivots. If Ibanez still wants to force every S-lover to use ZR, I guess I just have to buy older and used S-models with traditional tremolo systems.

Re: IBANEZ 2013 (who has the inside scoop)

I've got an S540, FGM400, S1520, S5EX1 w/Prestige neck and ZR, and an S5470 w/ZRII. Very little difference between them in terms of sustain. The FGM and S1520 both have brass big blocks and noiseless springs too. Didn't really change much. I think it's inherent to the guitar's design.

I think the ZR is the best tremolo design Ibanez has ever made. It returns to pitch better than any of my Edge equipped guitars and using it doesn't affect the action of the strings over the fretboard.

The sustain block could do with being larger, and the ZPS is useless, but what I want to see is an improved ZR, not a return to older paradigms.

Agreed 100%. The zr and concept behind the zr are not new but are in fact a far better design then a metal knife edge against two posts. I love the floyd but it really is a stupid design. Using a bearing system makes way more sense because you donít have to maintain a perfect neutral perpendicular position on the trem. You also get a smoother travel and you are guaranteed to return to whatever tuning you are in.

I love Kahlers and it is truly a shame that Gibson owns and i think that is the only reason why they aren't used more

As far as sustain and use of trem blocks I dont see a huge difference myself. I have never picked up a guitar and thought to myself "this floyd clearly has inferior sustain because of a weak trem block". There are so many factors that factor in and i am sure that the trem block has some very small part in that but think of all the other things that matter more.

I would like to see more out of the Indo factory like neck throughs. I feel that they are great guitars for the price. I think that they could offer more j.custom style options/features and still hit the right price point to sell enough.
