Ibanez 580B Ballback

Recently added an Ibanez 580B Ballback to my collection. It's in very good condition and sounds very deep and warm. Cleaned this puppy up, and all left to do is change the strings and remove the piece of wood that locks the trem (previous owner installed this).

Here are some pics:

How's the neck, typical Ibanez or does it have some meat to it?

Looks great, too bad about the floating trem though.

Wow, that's a new one for me - looks great! The contouring on the back looks comfy. Any plans for it beyond unblocking the trem (and what kind is it? Hard to tell at least on this monitor)?

I never saw one of these before.
IMO, looks like an S with a Telecaster contour.
A black pickguard would be great.

I almost bought one of these of the bay a few years ago, they're really hard to find and as soon as they go up for auction they're gone in a flash. Congrats and it would be great to see under the pickguard before you replace the strings. I know that's a lot to ask but who knows when I'll ever get a chance to see if it's just would or if there's anything else going on under there and I would like to see what's stamped on the heel of the neck as well!!

For now just happy the guitar joined my collection. No further plans, as the 580B's are hard to come by, I rather keep it original. Just unblocking the Edge trem, some new strings and adjusting the tremsetter and that's about it.

It definitely has some meat to it.

The mahogany body is not as heavy as it looks. It has a very comfy back profile and is great to play. From what I understand there must be a swimming pool type route under the pickguard, what would explain the weight. When changing the strings I will have a peak.

Now that green one is sweet........yours? If so, was that one a special order, or Japanese market only?
