Ibanez dating question - unsure of year of a...

*Hi, long time reader, first time poster. *I've just purchased a great DSY RG550. *It has the all access neck. *I am wondering what year they started making RGs with the all access neck; I want to find the date on her! *Also, is there any way I can date the production year on her with the serial number? *Thanks!

Last digit's the year I'd guess...Don't know about the rest.

THe serial number should read *

F ######

Where the # are numbers.

The FIRST number tells you the year, so if it's say a 94 model the serial number will start F 4#####etc

Jono is correct, up until 1997 when they switched to the first two numbers.. So my 1997 RG570's SN# starts with F97 #####.. There's a slight gap between the 7 and the remaining numbers.. *
