Ibanez FGM Frank Gamble

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me where the FGM's are made? Japan or Korea?

Thanks

Japan.

And yes. They are very expensive. And desirable. Check out the FGM400 series.

Re: Ibanez FGM Frank Gamble

man i've tried this guitar, is very light, and thin, if u like to shred, i think this guitar would fit to you, pick the guitar and u don't feel painful anymore in u r finger, the action very low to the fretboard

the price? i don't know if in new condition, but my friend sell this guitar about us $850

Re: Ibanez FGM Frank Gamble

mi2tom, the FGM400 series are really very expensive... 800USD? Sure. Why not?

The FGMs are uber cool to me. I have an MIJ S520EX, and compared to today's Sabers, my Saber looks much thinner. The neck joint is thinner. The FGM i got to play/setup last time, had the same thin body and my Saber and more! I mean, recessed pup rings? (pups sit FLAT on the body) Recessed Lo Pro Edge?! (As lo pro as the edge pro) Recessed NECK??! The baby is THIN man!

And to add on, the FGM400 has HSS config, which is to me, the most versatile combination. On a 22 fret neck.

*Sigh*

Re: Ibanez FGM Frank Gamble

The FGMs are very nice, but the HSS config is really HHH, the two 'single coils' are actually twin blade mini-buckers.

800$ for an MIJ signature guitar would be quite a deal in my book, if you look at the prices on (Korean!) Sabres right now. The FGM has a great neck, nice choice of body woods, versatile PupS, LoPro.

If you do get one, look carefully at the frets, they are a bit thinner/flatter than on most Ibanezzes, after ~8years they will show considerable wear.

Anyone played one of the Yamaha Gambale guitars?

http://www.yamaha.com/guitars/produc...D%253D,00.html

Reeeeal nice. I could care less for the wilkinson which constantly went out of tune when I was playing with it but it plays and sounds fantastic plus the first two frets look funky.

Stupid thing carried a $2600 price tag though.. sorry. No thanks! I'd rather have a Bad Horsie.

I have a 97 FGM400BB, one of the nicest playing in my fleet!
Rare as hell is not the word for it, I have the 5th made that year, willing to bet they did not make many of the 400s at all, i have seen very few, even on the inter webs!
Now the 100s (with the lighting bolt inlays are alot easier, and cheeper to find!).
I personally would swap out the rear pup, Its a AH2, With a Fred, but thats just preference.
