Ibanez giving the TRS the boot?
I was just looking through the ibanez site and saw that on a few lower end RGs it now says "fr double lock bridge" rather than the lo trs which it still says on the RG4xx
I saw it on the RG250DX and 270
anyone know anything about this?

I agree the edges are far superior
but it's good to see ibanez taking a step up

I think this has always been the case for RG2xx with double locking trem ? And I believe it's lower quality compared to the TRS. The
trem arm
looks like a regular
strat trem
arm with the plastic tip. I think the TRS usage starts with RG3xx.

Oops I just checked the ibanez site and looks like the 270's bridge is different from some older 270's. But I tend to think something that's named as generic as "
floyd rose
double lock bridge" can't be better than the TRS ?

i saw that the new low end rg200 series at GC had double
locking trems
. i think these are more like the regular TRS trem that is on the S370s. can't remember if it was a collared bar or screw in, tho. it was a relief to see ibanez get away from those crappy single locking trems. the new ones should be more reliable than the old single locking trems of old. just good to see ibanez going more forward than in the late 90s.

Yay! no more trs! Rich is spot on. If you havnt played a trs I be thankful. A single locking floyd rose. As useful as a jem333.

Im one of the only ones who has played the new trem. It was on a rg250dx, I almost bought because the thing actually looked and played well. it stayed in tune wonderfully with lots a pull ups. It just felt like an old original floyd. It appeared to be milled, but Ive no way of telling that for sure. Which one of these processes is more or less expensive? milled or cast? What are the benefits of each one?

I think cast is cheaper, as its basically pouring metal into a mould, instead of getting a block of metal and drilling and grinding out the holes in it.

Correct me if IM wrong but even with cast the holes are still drilled so they can be threaded
. By the way the
edge trem
is cast so whats it matter

Every OFR/TRS type I've seen was just stamped from plate metal.

If the edge is cast then cast is good enough for me.
