Ibanez Guitar Purchasing Advise

Okay, so here's the deal! I want to buy a new Ibanez!! I currently own an Ibanez SA160QM, it's okay but it only has 22 frets and the sound is mediocre. I have a Line 6 Spider III 150.

Spending-wise, I have about £800-£1000. I want a guitar that will allow me to play most styles. So far I see the Jem 555 (and yes, I know the general opinion) in here, but is the 2008 model still as bad as it is claimed in here? Or perhaps a RG2550 or SV5470?

If it were me I would go with the RG as some have commented on how the new S guitars have sustain issues. However, you should go play both and see which you like first. If you buy a 555 I will fly to the UK and kick you in the rear.

Get a used black tar Jem. Jem feel without all the Jem class.

There's a couple of Used as new Vai Jem 7VH's around the £1000 mark on fleabay UK at the mo if your interested?

yea, for that money a used JEM is in within your reach, the BSB's and the DBK go pretty cheap pretty often.
oh, if looking on the bay for JEM's - dont buy the "unbranded beauty"
its a horrible fake - if in doubt, ask here.
