Ibanez Guitars with the Roland GK2A? - New Ibanez Roland rea

A guy from a music store here in Portugal told me that Ibanez has a line of guitars that come with the Roland GK2A pickup installed, like the F**der Roland-ready St**t. Is this true? Does someone have one of these guitars? Wich models come with this pickup (RG's, S-series, etc.)?

I would like to buy a Roland-ready guitar (preferably Ibanez, of course), since i bought a couple of months ago a Roland GR-33 Guitar Synth and would like to have a Roland-ready guitar to substitute the external GK2A that i have mounted in my St**t.

Those are the new J Custom models for this year. They're still a few months away. You can see pics on my site, links on the NAMM 2001 update page.

Wow!!! The RG with purple quilt top and abolone purfling is COOL!!!

Rich, any idea (Month...) when it will be available? And do you know what pickups they have, besides the Roland GK2A for the MIDI?

Man, i love that guitar! It's SWEET!!!

Of the 3, THAT is the sweet one! I ordered 2. Specs? On J Customs? LOL Still trying to get them, all I know for sure is the pickups are Dimarzios.

Yep, i they are DiMarzios, for sure, and probably a ToneZone and a Air Norton... i guess!!!

Too bad it's the Roland GK-2A pickup. It's such a bad pick-up.

Given the fact that Ibanez has piezo-double-edge, I don't understand why they didn't take advantage of this for the MIDI pickup...like Godin does for example.

Piezo pickup is so much better than regular pickup for MIDI capture.
