Ibanez Iceman

Anyone on here ever owned one of these guys? They seem like good guitars, and the new ones come with DiMarzios and a decent price tag. I'm considering getting an old one and doing a Franken-Iceman but want some feedback from fellow Jemmers first.

Re: Ibanez Iceman

I wish they still made them with the old HS, they look absolutely retarded (imo) with the 6 inline headstock, and the only models in production are MII, so quality can be very hit or VERY miss.

Re: Ibanez Iceman

The old headstock looks like its missing 2 extra pegs, and if it were a little smaller than itd be fine

Theres a few IC200 on CL which are apparently lighter than all the new ones

Re: Ibanez Iceman

Just tried a new one the other day with the D-Activators. Sounds very nice and handling was very cool. Surprisingly also the built quality was very solid and I did not have anything to complain. For the price tag everything was in excellent order. With a decent setup this guitar will play and sound very nice.

Re: Ibanez Iceman

I never liked the couple I tried. For the same money I'd just grab a reissue destroyer. I had one when they first came out (the reissues that is), in candy apple red. Fantastic guitar, and the only one in my LONG history of resellin' that I kind of miss/regret.

Re: Ibanez Iceman

Definately a little heavier than a RG/JEM but still in the quite OK range, nowhere near a LP.

Re: Ibanez Iceman

Love the Iceman. Old school version only, of course. The 6-in-line headstock looks very poo.

Re: Ibanez Iceman

I was tempted to pick up an Iceman ICT700 but I'm waiting to see if PG's Fireman (reverse Iceman) releases early next year. Looks way cooler and I'm sure it will play well too.

Now that'll be a guitar worth shelling out for. It looks sweet.
