hi guys..im mike from erie,pa.
lemme start by sayin that this is an awesome site.ive learned alot in the short time ive been lurking around.like for instance,the aanj?i never knew what that was.ive learned how to date my rg570(which was just returned to me after 5 yrs of being absent)...what a shredder that axe is.the wizard neck?you cant beat it.
i had to take it in and get it setup again but now the action is 16000th under factory specs and not even a slight buzz.unreal.
something that kinda bothers me though is some info ive learned about my rgt42.i absolutely love that guitar.it just feels solid.the feeling of the neck thru...but the number on the back states that its a cort and made in korea?ive heard that these guitars are chinsey.am i wrong here?
back in 93 i owned (i believe it was)an rg550.h/s/s.the bridge was a cream colored duncan distortion,mid was a 68 blues(i think)and the neck was a hot rail.the guitar is white with black hardware and had a decal of a firebird trans am on it.i sold it to a friend with the understanding that if he were to sell it,id buy it back.he sold it but not to me.i know its a long shot but id just like to know if its still around and in good hands.i traded my jackson soloist custom for that guitar and it was the best thing i ever did.i sure do miss her.enclosed is a pic of us.my right arm would be covering the decal.

i'm afraid i can't help you with much but i believe if that RG was a HSS setup with no pickguard it would be an rg560. don't know if that helps but anyway.

as for your rgt42, from what i can tell, it has either an edge pro 2 or an edge 3 on it? in that case it's made in korea somewhere i think. i'm probably wrong, but i think the "C" at the start of the serial designates what factory it was made, like how "F" in front of prestige models indicates the Fugijen plant in japan.

The C does stand for Cort plant, Korea just like you say. However, it's not a crap guitar, if it feels right to you then it's a solid guitar! The trem might not last as long as say an edge, but change that out and your good to go!

if im not mistaken,i have an edge on my 570.the rgt42's trem says lo-pro trem II.this is an edge 2?is it the type of material that its made of that doesnt last?one thing i dont like is the screw-on arm.why did they change it?it has to cost more to made a cap with threads than to make 2 nylon bushings.i would think.

Yeah, the trem is called Edge Pro II and the material isn't as durable as in lets say an edge or an edge pro. The screw-in solution sort of sucks yeah. But there are newer trems that have pop-in arms too like the edge pro, edge zero and ZR2.
