Ibanez LACSD 27 Fret guitars! - 2nd series of "LA Custom Sho

I just read about this on April's issue of Young Guitar:- *I am not that fluent in Japanese - but I figured these extra long neck guitars are from LA CSD. *Three models are available:
RG7CSD2 - 7 strings 27 frets RG w/ HSH (Air Notron 7, Blaze 2-Single & Tone Zone 7 pickups)
RG6CSD2 - 6 strings 27 frets RG w/ Duncans
S6CSD1 - 6 strings 27 frets thin S body w/ EMG 81 & 85

These are similar to the Baritone 27 "XL" guitars but they have the LACSD inlay on the "12th" (or I should say 15th fret).

Here's a link but the picture is rather small:

I suppose they are available in Japan but perhaps people can order them from Ishibashi.

Ibanez LACSD 27 Fret guitars!

Wow thanks David, this sounds really interesting. Sounds to me like the Washburn 27 fret models and the Carparison Mattias IA Eklundh signature model.

Would there be difference in the octave? What differences would there be??

Chris.

David,

It says that its a 27 inch scale, not a 27 fret guitar. Seven string baritone.

Ibanez LACSD 27 Fret guitars!

I have pictures of an older washburn three octave guitar, with 36 frets, and one humbucker "thats all that will fit" *Its ugly as can be, but I would love to own one. *I would love to transcribe ballerina 12/24 an octave higher. *:>

Ibanez LACSD 27 Fret guitars!

Is that the one that came in either Red/Black crackle or Confetti finish? I played one of those when I first started playing. I was confused as to why my new guitar had only 22 and this one had 36. I was such a newb.

Ibanez LACSD 27 Fret guitars!

yes it is the one in red and black , but also some blue crackle in the finish, I saw one other in bone crackle but I lost the picture. *If I owned one of these personally, Id strip the finish to natural, wood polish it, and drop some tung oil in it, and of course, that washburn trem would have to go. *Ive seen similar guitars like this but the frets were fanned out so as to allow you to fret in the 3rd octave. *The cool thing about these is you can play eugenes trick bag an octave higher than normal, lol. *Now thats some shred.

Re: Ibanez LACSD 27 Fret guitars! - 2nd series of "LA Custom Sho

well here goes my second post

I am considering buying a RG6CSD2, i was wondering
- are only the 12th fret marked or are the 3rd , 5th etc ...
marked aswell ( dunno who to describe this since english isnt my native lanugage ). i can see the LAcustoms symbol 12th freth of the front of the fretboard,
but nothing more ...

But when you look at a guitar from the top the frets may be
marked with small dots on the " side " of the neck as on
a regular guitar ?

as in this picture
http://www.sheppardguitars.com/Minst...et%20Edges.jpg

Anyone know what i am talking about ?

Yes - I have two LACSD's and both have fret board markers at the 12th only, but do have side dot markers.
