ibanez rg 1570 problem

I couldnt find a post about this anywhere so maybe you guys can help me!
The high E on my 1570 is ridiculously close to the edge of the fretboard
when I tap it comes off. Is this normal? Can it be fixed?

same as on mine, have to learn to live with it, shouldn't be tapping the string off the fretboard, maybe your technique is at fault.

Re: ibanez rg 1570 problem

Sounds like the nut has slided a bit; is it tight? If the low E is far in on the fretboard, then it should be a string misalignment at the bridge, nut, or both.

That said, all RGs I've played have the high E pretty close to the edge of the fretboard. The upside is, when you tap and the string comes off the fretboard you can get pretty cool effects (and that's without a whammy pedal )

You can pick one up for $430 at a handfull of dealers off the net. They're making room for the '05 models comin in.
