Ibanez RG321MH

Hey guys want to ask what you think of this guitar. I just need an extra axe to take to some local areas to play at where I don't have to worry about taking some of my more expensive guitars. I love the look and dig the natural mahagony look. I will although upgrade some of the parts such as the saddles to graph tech saddles and change the pickups. Any one out there own one? Is is Chinese, korean or indonesia? Any help would be great.

Thank
Armando

They are sweet guitars. I took mine to get the frets polished and do a little more detail on the fret ends. Swap the pups, and its great!

Re: Ibanez RG321MH

I've played an Indonesian RG321 and the neck felt very uncomfortable to me. Acoustically it sounded kind of hollow compared to my Korean SA120, which is also made of mahogany. The fretboard wood looked odd. I don't recommend it, but if you can get hold of a MIK one, it could be worth it.

Re: Ibanez RG321MH

How do you guys figure if it is made in Korea or other? Do you ask the seller of the have the comany ask the Rep? I really am trying to avoid anything made in Indonesia I have played some Ibanez made from there and they were the worst setup guitars I have ever played in my life.

Thanks
Armando

It's printed on the back of the headstock.

Re: Ibanez RG321MH

I dunno how much things have changed since my 2004 BKF coloured one, but you might have to get used to the rather D shaped neck. Also mine came with a set of 10s as stock, but don't let that put you off. Unless you have a specific preference and/or tuning, go for 9-46s.

Build quality is pretty good, enough to justify upgrading pickups if you want. I'm also not sure how the INF pickups they put in 321s nowadays compare to Powersounds.

Generally can't speak for Indonesian models because all Ibanezes I own are Korean made.

Re: Ibanez RG321MH

I can tell you why Bentley not bringing in, they have this idea that non tremolo RG will not sell. Seriously!!! This was the reason by a friend who used to work there. Bentley never brought in all these RG321 and RG421 because they believe it will not sell.

Where you friend ordered it anyway?
