Ibanez RG370DXL ,what junk....
Well, I'm in the market for a new guitar, so I had my local gutar shop manager bring one of these in from another store just to check it out, and I must say, it was probably one of the worst playing guitars I have ever played hands down. First off, the body weighted a TON, it was at least 3 to 4 lbs heavier than a RG1570 that I held there, and yet there both made of basswood, weird. Second, this Edge 3 bridge and the action was horrible, stiff as can be and the arm had no bushings on it or anything, just held in there by friction or something, yeah, junk. The neck was far to thick to even be called a Wizard, I think my Jacksons neck is thinner, and the inlays were cheap and had a lot of black filler. Infact the neck felt like it was made of plastic or something. gross.
anyways, its so not worth the $399.99. He's going to order me up a Prestige RG1570L to check out, I held a regular 1570 and the neck and body felt great, as well as that bridge, gotta love the Edge pro. Hes asking 699 w case for it, not to bad considering for $300 less you get that RG370.
I'm also still considering a Schecter 7 string or that Agile 7 string, but I can't play them first which pisses me off.

First, get a seven.
Second, if you want something with a neck that feels like an Ibanez Wizard, odds are most Schecters aren't going to feel right for you. I've logged a moderate amount of playtime on a C7 Hellraiser and my main player is a UV7PWH, and saying they feel a bit different is somewhat of an understatement. The Hellraiser (which DOES come as a lefty) is substantially girthier and has a 26.5" scale, which isn't massively off Ibanez's 25.5", but is different enough that you do notice it. The combined effect is you feel like you're holding a pretty substantial chunk of wood. This will throw you for the first couple minutes, but after I spent an hour or so ****ing on the C7 and then picking up the UV and ****ing on the UV and then picking up the C7 etc I found I could go back and forth between the two with ease. Turns out that not only does the extended scale give you better definition in the bass frequencies, it also feels pretty comfy up in the upper registers where it gives you a little more wiggle room. Part of me wonders if, once you're used to it, the C7 is the better "shred" instrument - as it turns out the EMG's are actually rather nice for mid-gain leads, and something about the guitar just begs for fast alternate picked runs.
Jeff Loomis
certainly seems to agree.
For Agiles, I've heard mixed reports over at
www.sevenstring.org
. I've seen some QC issues on a few of them, but for every guy who found something not to his liking there's been two more I've talked to who say they're awesome guitars for the price. Certainly, the neck profile is way more "Ibanez" than the Schecters will be. They no longer come with Blazes, but that's a pretty easy swap, and when you consider just how little you're paying for a maple-topped basswood bodied (Anderson raves about this combo, as does Suhr) seven with an
ebony board
, and when you consider their liberal return policy, it's tough to not feel as if they're at least worth a shot.

Anyway, as for the 350, I've personally always felt it's best not to come down too hard on a guitar for it's "feel" until after it's been given a proper setup. I've played top-of-the-line Iby's that feel like crap that I'm sure would be a whole different beast with a fresh set of strings and a good setup.

Re: Ibanez RG370DXL ,what junk....
I played the 370 expecting the setup to be pritty bad and all, I tryed it out just to see how it felt as far as the next thickness and overall quality of the guitar, which was lacking in just about every area. A good setup just wouldn't be the saving grace of the guitar. I take it the only differences between the 350dx and the 370dx is the body route (pickguard vs no pickguard)
I really do want a 7 string but like I said, I'm not about to lay down $400+ for something I just can't play first. The Agile looks mad cool, but I figured for a no name guitar it would more than likely be a hit or miss when it comes to overall quality, not to mention I would have to rip out those pickups like almost immediately because I know there junk, which would cost me another $200 easy, which brings me into the price range of the Prestige RG1570L and Schecter C-7 Hellraiser (mmm, yummy EMG 707's). However, I'm a bit afraid of the huge necks on the Schecters. I have small hands so I really can't stand huge necks, plus I'm so used to Ibanez wizards, its not even funny, and I know I'm going to love that prestige, its just quality all the way and the neck is very similar to my 550 wizards. I suppose I could order the Schecter, try it out for the 3 day return period policy of Adirondack guitars (anyone dealt with them before?
http://www.adirondackguitar.com/left...er/lh_menu.htm
) same with the Agile...
Argh! this sucks!

Really!?! a RG370!?
I played one and it was average for a 400 dollar guitar. It wasn't that heavy either. It wasn't too horrible but it wasnt good by any means. I think I played one before the edge 3 came out. i guess quality control really out the window than. Tisk Tisk ibanez! Shame on you!!!

I mean, what more do you want for $400? The Edge III stays in tune, the pickups are decent, the neck feels good to me (Wizard II)
Maybe it's the fact that I haven't had the chance to play an original RG550 or something better, but I love my guitar.

The point was once you compare this to any older MIJ Ibanez, the Korean 370 is a joke..buts its still a better entry level guitar that most others.
