Hey man,
I got a very similar rg550 - it is just the normal rg550 model though.
Exactly the same paintwork and everything. The only thing that is different is the
maple fretboard
and
Edge trem
.
check out these links for pics and you will see what i mean:

But getting to your question - i think it is great - plays like a dream.
Yours is probably better with the Lo-Pro however.

ciao the.godfather
yes, it looks similar in your pictures.
I found the AANJ very useful and the lo-pro is not bad, but I hate it when it is time to bend strings!
The 550LTD is almost nowere, you cannot find it and it is bad since it is the closest RG to the JEM version or at least the JEM7BK.
I have never seen other RGs, in the italian market, with the lo-pro but always with the edge. Market strategy?
Also the design of the keyboard is different and thinner comparing to the others RGs and JEMs.
I do not know how many guitars have been produced in this limited version.

The neck is a wizard neck used on the standard RG550 as well as the RG550LTD. It is, I think, the thinnest neck out there, and with the binding I'll bet it feels good!!! That is one purty axe man!!!

Actually, I think that's a Super Wizard on the 550LTD. Could be wrong though...

Aaaaah, there's one EXACTLY the same at a music store nearby, except the previous owner replaced the
bridge pickup
with a
Seymour Duncan
and installed a mini toggle switch on the lower bout. Inconsiderate buggers didn't even think to put it in the pickguard.

here is a link to the catalogue in maurozaps pictures which is large enough to read and you will find that it is an
AANJ wizard neck
, 17mm- 20mm.

Did my research, did not even attempt to guess.

I found a '98 one of these is silver for $350. It is pretty good shape. Only one chip and buckle marrings in the back. Is this a pretty good deal. I would have bought it had he come down to $300. What do you guys think?

Hi,
I have one of those RG550 LTDs. It's black with the mirror pickguard, and has the AANJ. I think it's awesome. It' heavier than most RGs I've played, and it sounds great. I put a Duncan Custom in the bridge and it rocks! I had to replace the Lo-
pro edge
because I wanted to put a Drop D-tuner gadget on it, so I put an original
Floyd Rose
on it. It's a great guitar. If anyone has one for sale, or knows of any for sale, let me know. I would like to get another. I really like the neck(mine has the shark fin inlays).
Thanks,
John

I own one too, I have the violet one. Changed both humbuckers to EMG's, still no single coil yet. Selling it to finance a backup 7 string guitar
