Ibanez S520 QUESTIONS!

I like the 520. *Although it isn't quite as good a guitar, IMO it's a BETTER deal. *You don't pay for extra fluff. *Of course, you miss a few useful things, too. *See if you like the stock pups; I think Ibanez gets a bad rap and I think their higher stock ones are pretty good. *I still like the TZ or JB better, but I think that's personal taste, not that they're "across the board better". *The low ender pups... now, stay off of those.

Also, you may want to look for a 540 variant if you're not afraid of buying used. *Some have even said the newer 520 ones are actually going downhill in quality.

Ibanez S520 QUESTIONS!

i second andy's suggestion- look for a 540 instead. i tried the 520 recently & it's not like its previous S-model siblings. IMO, if you wanna get a good S-type guitar now (with a floating whammy preference), go for broke, get the S1540. :read:

Ibanez S520 QUESTIONS!

Pretty good deal...I had one for a while. *I kinda like the feel of older 540s better.

Here's a pic of the one I had: http://jemsiteforum.com/sharefiles/i...mage=s520a.JPG

Ibanez S520 QUESTIONS!

The S520 is on sale at Musicians Friend for $599. Not too bad. I still think it's a pretty good guitar.

Ibanez S520 QUESTIONS!

yeah a blemish one, which means it's scratched or something. I bought a Flextone XL for $200 less than normal price that was a Blem. I still can't find the Blem, so it was a good deal.
