Ibanez S540 LTD - Did I get a good deal?

Hi everyone!

I recently made a purchase on a new guitar, an Ibanez S540 LTD. I already own a 7DBK and I love it, and I have always wanted an S540, but I have never had a chance to play one. I say this one, black in really good shape, EMG 81 (bridge) SA (middle) 85 (neck) and an Ibanez hardshell case, all for $465.00 (including shipping). Is this a good deal? What are anyones opinion of the S540 LTD guitars from the 90's? Thanks for any input!

Considering those EMGs are probably worth half of what you paid, i'd say you got a really good deal! Congrats!

If the neck's in good shape, that's a good price. *I like those guitars a lot.

IMO, i think you got your $$$'s worth. i own an SOL finish S540ltd, i like this guitar a lot, i was gonna buy another but it was discontinued. i'm still dreaming of the flame maple topped version which i could have bought... the S series today aren't up to scratch, unless you go for the Prestige models... *sob*

once again- GOOD BUY!!

Ibanez S540 LTD

a friend of mine used to have one of those. I loved it. It had the best action and unique tone of any guitar i had ever seen. It was the guitar that originaly made me take notice to what a good ibanez is supposed to be. Before then, I had never played a good ibanez. It left an impression on me.

heck, i want one now.
Congrats on the guitar, yes, you got a good one. and a good price too.
Thats my two cents.

Good price IMHO...considering the case & pups. *I love those guitars...had one on DSY (shocking yellow) and sharkfin inlays...actually those were the only reasons I let it go. *Something about the feel of the neck on the 90s models work for me...I had an S520wfn and it was just not the same.
