Try websters.com
I have my OWN inside sources that said the 20 was in DIRECT RESPONSE to the cry for colors.
I wouldn't say Jay knows any more than he's told, which is what the suits want you to hear.
You have pretended to know everything in this thread and argue every point of it. Of course "pretend" is the operative word.
Zzzzzzzzz.

OK that is enough guys, keep it civil and respectful.
I am pretty certain Jay is on a need to know basis (he's told exactly what his bosses need/want him to know and little else for business reasons) which is fine and expected... glen

Then why did they make it LIMITED to only a few thousand people? (collectors) And not the people that were actually complaining? (players)
Now I am sure there are going to be players buying them as well. But for the most part...
They DID however add yellow and pink to the regular selection on the RGs. Which I was told was a direct result of the complaining.
If the complainers had their way it would have had Fire Alarm Red. One of the most sought after colors of the 550 other than DSY.

What I want to hear? This is more of that dishonest silliness. I care less about colors. Why would I "want to hear" anything?

Another baseless accusation. You may know a lot about
ibanez GUITARS
but your debating skills are for the birds.

Right and those that don't even work there are on a even less need to know.
Why would Jay say such a thing if it weren't true?
Jay isn't in the habit of doing such things.

Re: Ibanez screws it’s S buyers over again..
2000 guitars is probably equal what they sold in 1570's so far. That isn't exactly a SMALL number.
They are PLAYER PRICED!! They are made for the player, period.
"You", as in "the public. Trust me, they aren't speaking to YOU in particular.
Sorry Glen, but if you mention "dishonest" again I'm going to shove it up your arse!
I can go back through this thread and quote at least 20 pretend to know everything statements you have made. Nothing I've said is baseless.
I don't get my information from those that are there to control the spin.

get a grip.
workers below senior positions are told what their bosses want them to know and little else. "need to know".
OTOH you have outside people such as Rich with inside info far beyond said worker for many reasons which i will not continue to debate any more than i'll enterain discussion that the Earth is flat.
I know nothing aboug Jay except he seems to be trying his best at ibanez.com and he is not plugged into the information channel beyond what is marketed and told to ibanez dealers... glen

But not 550s. I hope you aren't honestly saying everyone that wants and can pay for a RG20th 550 is gonna be able to get one. Because that aint gonna happen.

Well my opinion differs from your opinion. Though you are treating yours as fact.

See thise is why I cut and past. This statement above out of context makes no sense.

1. I am not Glen.
2. If you don't want people to mention that word, stop doing it. Projecting thoughs or ideals onto me that I simply do not possess IS dishonest.

Because Rich says it's not. Not because you've backed up your statements. You just go and make a bunch, declare them the truth, and then act demeaning towards people you are talknig to. This is your M.O. Not just with me either.

Yeah! You get it from guys in the know! Not like Jay!
Again Jay has no reason to spin this. None.

Right and someone that doesn't even WORK THERE would know EVEN LESS.

Of course.

You don't know that either. You have no clue WHAT HE KNOWS. Saying otherwise is dishonest as well.
But hey, I posted something over there and asked him to be a bit more clearer about how the 20th RGs came to be.
We will see what comes from that.

Re: Ibanez screws it’s S buyers over again..
Now you're calling Glen dishonest too?! You're a freaking jackass.
If i had the time I would quote every one of your pretend to know something statements, but since everybody can just go back and read the thread, I won't bother.
Why don't you go play back at ibanez.com, see if Jay will throw the ball with you.
At this point I'm extremely happy you think Ibanez is screwing you.

Glen said this

"
He doesn't KNOW what Jay knows. Him saying he DOES is dishonest. the fact that Jay had seen in person the 20th ann Jem before anyone here or the dealers says that simply isn't true.

More ad-hominem baseless accusations.

100% Silliness.

This statement says more about you, than me. BTW I don't think they are screwing ME.
The funny thing is, even them over there aren't as defensive when people say something negative about Ibanez as some of the fanboys over here are.
I've seen people with VALID complaints get heckled purely for fanboyish reasons.

More CRAP wood cost LESS than less GOOD wood. AKA the wizards need to be made out of decent wood to be decently stable consistantly. This wood costs more than crap wood that they usually make necks out of. It is why up until 2005, the S Prestige was the only S that got the wizard. That and they don't make em in Korea.
It seems like anytime anyone has a valid complaint in here people tend to RUSH in to take up for Ibanez and act like that person is just whining or what have you. This is just fanboyisms.
In reverse order... Fanboyism? From a guy who proudly brags his only electric is an Ibanez? Until I sold one of 'em a week ago, dude, I owned more Schecters than Ibanezes (not that I own a ton of guitars - two C7's and a PWH). The PWH I'm only holding onto until I can convince Tom Anderson to start making 7's again so I can get a proper strat-style SSH seven. I'd basically given up on Ibanez until this model year, which is the most life they've shown, from a seven stringer's perspective, in ages.
More importantly, I
don't
think your point is valid. If you prefer the feel of a Wizard I neck, that's all personal preference, and that's cool. You're entitled to your opinion - myself I've never found them comfortable and used to have wrist problems that cleared up after I sold my last Wizard-
equipped guitar
for my first 7. But, if you like thin necks, more power to you.
But this witch hunt you're on... Are you actually reading anything you're posting here? "Ibanez screws its S buyers over again..." Replacing a thin neck with a slightly thinner one is hardly tantamount to "screwing" anyone. Nor is moving production to Korea - five years I'd have agreed with you, sure, but after owning a pair of Schecters, a C7 Blackjack and C7 Hellraiser, and getting an in-depth look at recent Korean craftsmanship... Well, if it tells you anything, the Blackjack I kept was a replacement for a RG7CST, and I have absolutely no regrets about letting the CST go. The fretwork on the Blackjack is easily on part with any prestige I've played lately.
And, out of curiosity, and since I'm too lazy to read the entire thread, where exactly are you basing your claim that Ibanez "cheaped out" on the wood to cut corners? If you're in on some inside info that I'm not privy too, that's one thing, but to me this reads just like more of this "projection" you seem to love to accuse others of.
And finally, I find it curious that you LOVED the last S7, trem aside, seeing as, you know,
it had the same 19-21mm carve
as the Wizard II you hate so much... But, hey, what do I know.
Now, if you want to be taken seriously, then calm the heck down and stop acting like you're on this giant crusade against Ibanez, people who prefer
thicker necks
, people who disagree with you, and people pragmatic enough to understand market demand.
