I actually read most of this(I know)and I have to say Kevin's definition of "dishonest" is a bit skewed.

Like I said, there were at least 20 quotes where he just flat out stated a "fact" that was nothing more than jibberish. One of them was calling me dishonest for stating just that!

Re: Ibanez screws it’s S buyers over again..
I'll add this, It's not he same neck only 1mm thicker. The shape is WAY differant. Even Rich says the shape is too thick in the shoulders. Plus the radius is differant. The neck pocket isn't as deep as it used to be, which raises the pups and bridge higher than the Wizard I equipped guitars.
I personally wouldn't buy a new guitar that I have to shave the neck on (void warranty). The quality/consistancy has went down hill since they swithed to the Korean plant.
So, it's just one less quality guitar you can buy from Ibanez.
I think those are solid points and hard to argue with.
Though I'm sure someone will.
I just hate to see what used to be a good guitar turned into a beginners guitar. That's what has happened and it does seem like alot of people here have the, "if you don't like it don't buy it or buy something used" or "it's just a cheap guitar anyway attitude".
I know the S isn't a JEM, but come on guys, just show a little love for the cheapy S.
But you know, the passion to make a point is fading. I already have 3 S guitars and at this point, I'll be getting no more.
Of the people that have commented, I wonder how many have played an S with a Wizard I and an S with a Wizard II back to back. I know there are a couple/few, but I'm sure some haven't and are basing thier opinions off the differances between the RG Wizard I and RG Wizard II.
In the end it probably doesn't matter cause this thread has went to ....

I won't argue that MIK profile sucks eggs, and so does the finish they use on it, more gummy than slick. I'll be sure to relay it to Mak but I just don't see them doing a lot about it. Though you never know.

I guess it only comes down to sales numbers of the S series, right ? As long as they are good, they will never ever do anything about it, the day the sales drop dramatically and beyond financially interesting, they would either discontinue it (?) or change something for the better. So how are the S series sales going Rich ?

Honestly, that last point is the most interesting thing to come from this thread, the change in neck pocket depth by a full 8mm. That's pretty drastic; I'd be curious what the rational was, or if it just sort of fell through the cracks.
All this talk about neck thickness and screwing the customer sort of drove us away from what could have otherwise been an interesting discussion - I haven't played a recent wizard II, but the last I played (on an older S470) I actually rather preferred to the Wizard - it was a bit strattier, but in a good way. Has the shape itself changed?

This kind of confused me.
I'm guessing at this point what you mean is that though the J Customs are 17-19mm...they aren't the same shape as the original Wizard. Is that correct?
If not, just pointing out that according to the Ibanez Japan site..
http://www.ibanez.co.jp/japan/produc...G8470F_PR.html
When you click neck dimension it does say 17mm at first and 19mm at 12th.
The Ibanez site could be wrong, that's probably not the first time that's happened.
Or it could be my first guess and that you mean that while it is 17-19, it's not the Wizard I shape.

Re: Ibanez screws it’s S buyers over again..
So was the real reason the original (thinnest) neck got changed due to them just being too thin and prone to cracking or was there another reason?

Post #1 had ticking time bomb written all over it. I seriously doubted this thread would last more than 4 pages.
