What the hell happened to what? Good taste? They sure did fall a long way down from the
ugly
tree but that's a Spring Special tradition

wow your right. A whole lot to be excited about.
I think they are doing a great job!
that is if "great job" consists of destroying their image.

Re: Ibanez Spring Special Limited Edition range.
This will probably taint every post I make here henceforth to some people, but I actually like the Pegasus ones.
The fixed bridge one with the cracle and the moon, though....hideous! :P
I wish Ibanez would do more paper graphic RGs in the US. I like the 370 with the runway graphic and the hazardous warnings one too.

I think the 'Pegasus' one's are the best of a bad bunch but all in all they are pretty cheesy.

Re: Ibanez Spring Special Limited Edition range.
In 2007 there was a limited edition which looked like the 3520, now that was a guitar, what the hell happened since then? Last year's blossom tree, or whatever it was, was absolutely disapointing.

umm, so they think we are a bunch of 12 year old girls?? Those are horrible. Might as well paint a My Little Pony on them with glitter nail polish.

There have been two 'limited edition' ranges every year the last couple of years, the 'Spring Special' ones which usually are special Gio models and other 'lower end' models and a second range, usually released in Q3, which features Prestige models. Last year we had the
RG2450MZ
and
RG2470MZ
The RG2470MZ:
Not a looker like the RG20071 (the one the RG3520Z was based on) and not that original, but not as ugly as the Spring Special models either

Re: Ibanez Spring Special Limited Edition range.
I'm so glad to hear it's not just me who thinks these things are disgusting. Ibanez are meant to be known for making quality guitars and have an image based on that. Surely they must know that putting out stuff like that is going to damage their image? They're not even that likely to shift, 'coz people interested in that level and style of guitars aren't thinking, "Oh, I know, I'll buy an Ibanez". They'll just take whatever the half-assed shop assistant tells them to.
