Ibanez with 3 single coils
Did / do Ibanez make a model with 3 single coil pups ala a Strat?
I've been thinking of getting a '
super strat
' type geetar for ages and just wondered if they ever made one with 24 frets and 3 single coil pups
Any pointers would be great
edit: title of post should be "Ibanez with 3 single coils"

Re: Ibanez with 2 single coils
There was an S series with 3 single coils. Not sure of the model number. There are also old Roadstar and Blazer models with 3 S/C pickups that can be had for not much money on e-Bay.

Re: Ibanez with 2 single coils
There's a S series that had it. I believe it was an 540R, not sure.
I know a store here in Holland who have one in white. Not sure if it's used or New Old Stock. So if you're interested PM me I can get you some more info.

Re: Ibanez with 2 single coils
You can get a S/S/S pickguard to retro fit any RG with a pickguard. I have one lying around somewhere that will probably go on my SpongeBob 550 at some point. I'll fix the thread title for 'ya

Re: Ibanez with 3 single coils
That's probably the best idea. ^^ You can use any RG with a pickguard and you'll get your 24 frets, etc.

I don't think any 540R had 3 S/C. Possibly a 430 or something. I forgot the model.
EDIT: I was correct:

Re: Ibanez with 3 single coils
I don't think it will sound exactly Strat like, because of the pickup's relation to the neck, but it should sound pretty good. And singles soung great; they're versatile and fun for lots of stuff.

Re: Ibanez with 3 single coils
I had a RG1550. converted to S-S-S pickup configuration a la stratocaster.
painted in green.
no longer have it, just 3 months after finished the convertion, I sold it already.
it sucks... big time.
RG + 3 single just don't match.

Re: Ibanez with 3 single coils
I don't see why singles don't match on an RG unless singles just don't work for you. I love them, personally.

Re: Ibanez with 3 single coils
Yes... My Roadstar II RS 135 1984 model is single pickups. This model is only having a black color and a white color version. They made in Japan.

Re: Ibanez with 3 single coils
i really don't like the idea of an ibanez with 3 single coils, any other guitar except from gibson and ibanez is ok for me.
