ICT700 Iceman Vs. XPT700FX Xiphos

I need a guitar thats fixed bridge that I can leave in drop tunings all day and use solely for heavy rhythm playing.

In Ibanez's X series both the ICT700 and XPT700FX look good to me.. They're very similar they're just shaped differently.. Which one do you guys think is better?

Any other suggestions for a good rhythm guitar? They would be much appreciated. I need heavy crunch but NOT screamo or death sounding.. System Of A Down or Evanescence are two bands I would play a lot of with this guitar... That's the kind of sound I'm looking for.

(Yes I know Daron Malakian from SOAD uses an iceman, but I'm not gonna make a decision based on that. )

Yeah I was looking through their specs and I was like.. Uh these are the same guitars... I agree the iceman looks nicer but the xiphos looks meaner. But I've had very little experience with either of them, and I want to make sure I get something that will do it's job. And do it's job well. Any other rhythm players around... What do you use? And what music do you play with it?

All of the X Series are the exact same guitar. Just different body shapes (well all the ones at the same price point anyways). They are also pretty much the exact same as the RGT42.

If you have a store who has them in stock go try them out. One might be a dud or somesuch thing. Or one might just feel better on you.

I love the way les pauls sound... Led Zeppelin is who planted the seed of rock in me and I still love classic rock but lately I've just been craving hard rock... I need something with a metal sounding crunch for rhythm.. a les paul wouldn't work for me. Plus a gibson les paul is out of my price range.. I just need something I can drop tune and get heavy crunchy metal tone with.

Does Muhammad use an Iceman? Go with the Xiphos. It is the most martial metal one of the two.

I could block a trem on a floyd rose guitar but I want something made just for crunchy rhythm.
