If anyone else has an MMM1...

You really should try it with a set of Elixir 12s - not the baritone set, the "normal" 12 set. I just restrung mine last night, and it seems a vast improvement in the feel of the guitar. The tension is now even across the strings, the additional "brightness" of the Elixirs helps a lot with note clarity, and it feels lovely. The big fat bass strings that were on before seemed to give an awful lot of string noise when sliding up and down.

Definitely worth a go. I have mine B-B now, but you could probably go C-C on the 12s quite happily.

Ah well; looks like I'm the only one.

Just in case I'm not, though, I'm a bit puzzled. My MMM1 has a 3-way blade pickup switch that (from looking at the wiring) gives me neck humbucker, both, or bridge. But the 2003 catalogue gives the wiring plan as a 5-way:

Neck (series)
Neck (parallel)
Neck & bridge
Inner coils only
Bridge

Is mine not correctly configured then? Or is the catalogue wrong? The humbuckers appear to be 2-conductor, so I'm a bit puzzled as to how they'd achieve the wiring scheme in the catalogue anyways...?

Hey, aren't you on the Regent Guitar forum under the name 'andira'?

Just that someone on there has a MMM1 and he always chats about Elixer strings and different pick up configurations and stuff.

If not, never mind......

I think the catalog must be wrong... though i would love it if it did have the split-5 wiring.

Paddy - yup, that's me.

Darren - I think you're right. I think they've marked it in the wrong category (the UK catalogue has all the switching schemes on one page and lists the appropriate models above). It is handy that they've used a 3-way blade switch, not an LP-style one. I'm thinking of putting a pair of 4-conductor jazz humbuckers and a superswitch in and doing either the scheme in the UK catalogue or a PRS style switching scheme...
