RG2027X, even though i've never played one, I think it'd be a very versatile guitar to have that'd cover most jobs.

Re: If you could have one guitar, which would it be?

I'd like a custom 8 string explorer lower horn routed for more access, 24 frets, Lo Pro with piezos, neck thru, single dimarzio evo 8 direct mount(theorectically, coil split, reversed non tilt banana headstock with heavy chromed hardware and no pickguard. I'd like a flamed AAAAA maple top, korina as the tone wood, ebony stripes and bidseye maple fingerboard with the DNA's inlay in MOP. Oh and lion clawed.

and by the way RG2027X's are very versatile and very nice to play.

Almost forgot the fernandes sustainer.

Have to be a custom shop Strat.... but a JEM would be the only other thing to consider.

Re: If you could have one guitar, which would it be?

Man, I could never pick just one. Those "do it all" guitars just don't do it for me.

I like a guitar to do one thing good. And I like to have a few of them that do that one good thing their own different way.

Ex:

My PRS Custom 22 is not a shred machine, but for cleans and rhythm, I wouldn't take anything else.

My ESP absolutely rocks for shredding, but in the clean department, it isn't worth two squirts of monkey piss.

Some of my other guitars are pretty good at almost "all around everything" guitars, but when I think of great rhythms, I grab the PRS, and when I think of mindboggling leads, I think ESP. I guess those are my polar opposite guitars. Some of my Ibanez get really close at doing it all, and they're a very versatile instrument, though.

UV777BK only because I totally regret selling my '98 a few years ago. Someday, I will own another one.

Thats a tough question. There are soooo damn many that I want. I wouldn't mind having a J-custom Rg8270F. Awesome looking guitar.
