First of all I'd like to preface this thread by saying I don't mean to violate the no posting auction links from the bay policy with this,but I figure it's probably ok since it's ended........oh yeah,I hit it......less than 10 minutes after it dropped. After I took a chance and hit the button I researched these quite a bit.....here on Jemsite,Ko's world etc.,and it's looking more and more like I just made a helluva score. It'll definitely need some work,but IMHO if it's legit which I think it probably is,it'll be more than worth it. If not....which I doubt,
I can part it out,recoup my investment and end up with a free case....which I need,fairly easily.

You cant go wrong for $300. Dump $200 into a paint job and yougot a nice guitar for a good price.

its funny, i once had a necromancers castle usa custom, but that guitar was so screwed up, i couldn't do anything with it. it had a business card shimming the entire neck pocket, one of the single coils didn't work, the neck fretted out in weird places. i kept it for a week, just tinkering, trying new things with the truss rod, neck shimming, adjusting the trem height, everything. the only redeeming factor was that it exposed me to the double whammy. that is a screaming pickup. dimarzio says that the TZ is the closest pickup to the DW, but the DW had way more sizzle and a tad less bass than the TZ, was a killer in that basswood axe. i hate the TZ in basswood, but the DW was a scorcher.

congrats on the score, tho, rog. seems like a killer for 300 bones.

Yeah,for $300 as you guys said,it was pretty much a no brainer. As for the pups,I have an F spaced green EVO laying around......along with green knobs and switch tip. I'll probably grab a green single coil to throw in there as well. I know for sure the white PAF is coming out. White pups........to me at least,are ugly as sin.

Yeah,that was a great deal you got on that 540 Styg. I've been lucky a few times within the last year.......for instance,I just got this one for $350 a month or so ago.

It's just a matter of excersizing a reasonable amount of patience,and being able to dig around for awhile.......oh and a little luck doesn't hurt either.
