Re: is this a good guitar?
Yeap it's good and it's cheap and it comes with the edge pro II. Instead of the later model which is edge3 which to many here ain't good, but I never had problems with edge 3.

Re: is this a good guitar?
I had one. They're alright. You can do satch stuff on it but I wouldnt expect it to stay in tune very long. But I had alot of fun with mine. Play the crap out of it.

My parents are pretty stubborn when it comes to guitar buying...and its only getting tougher. Snatch up as many as you can QUICK! jk

Re: is this a good guitar?
My parents bought me 2 guitars. A cheapo $25 no name nothing, and then an Aria Pro II Knight Warrior. They got me a little practice amp, a Mel Bay book, and a whole lot of "TURN THAT CRAP DOWN!". After that, I was on my own.
The were pretty supportive, and in retrospect, a whole lot more tolerant than I gave them credit for being.
That was more than 20 years ago, and I have since thanked them both for unlocking the world of guitar for me. It takes a good parent to put up with really loud crappy music. Even better when they help finance it for you.
You'll really come to appreciate what they have done later in life, but make sure to thank them in the here and now.
So enjoy the hell out of that guitar.

Did your mom never buy you a guitar? I got mine when I was about 8. It was a bright pink Hondo II Les Paul!
Very good guitar, actually. I discovered Fender after that and fell in love with a picture of a '57 Strat in a book at school.

If your technique is good, yes. You should be able to do it on any guitar but it's easier on a better set up guitar and when the body, bridge and set up are more to your liking.
