Re: Japanese model RG with Lo TRS?

I love the way it plays. it is autographed by the guitar player from Children of Bodom. I think I will probably peel all of that off and wash it. The dude at the store flipped out when I told him that. He said I could **** it for a bundle.

I have never heard of that band, but the clerk showed me that the guitar player has an endorsement deal with ESP. I nthat catalog he showed me the Alexi Laiho signature model and the signatures match up.

I'll have to check their band out, but I seriously do not think the autograph affects the value of the guitar at all.

The clerk said, "Do on't remove it. What if you had Jimi Hendrix's sig on a guitar." I almost laughed because there is so much fake Jimi stuff on the bay. I can't prove Alexi signed it and I bought it from a shop that bought it from a guy who said Alexi signed it. I have no proof. So Poof it goes later this week.

The previous owner wired the guitar silly. I goes 1. Neck (either split or parallel not sure yet. 2. Neck middle 3. Middle 4. middle bridge out of phase...why?? 5. Bridge.

The bill Lawrence Pickups are great. I think the neck might go away for a H from H but I will know better when I fix the wiring. I want it just stock Ibanez HSH switching.

Signatures don't affect the value much at all. Sometimes they decrease the value, unless of course it's someone particularly famous. Alex Whatshisname, no offense to the guy, but he's a bit of a nobody.

I hate signed guitars.

Toshiro. Anata wa Nihongin desu ka?

DEE! thanks for the help.

I tried to see this guitar on the bay as the store said they listed it with no luck, butI did not find it. HA! Even an Alexi Laiho sig isn't that big of a deal (no slight intended).

Re: Japanese model RG with Lo TRS?

I studied Japanese in Nagano during college. I could be wrong, but Nihonjin may not require an honorific as it is not a Proper noun. Mt. Fuji gets one = Fujisan, but for an improper noun I tend to forget. I think it does not get one.

I liked Rashomon. My favorite book and movie!

cool, can't remember if i've seen that one..
i meant the name 'toshiro' needs an honorific, you're right- nihonjin doesn't use one. Mt Fuji uses one i think because it's such a revered mountain and part of the culture that it is given the friendly honorific implying it's a person..

Toshiro- yeah Mifune was a legend! those movies are based on the book Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa, if you haven't read it, i hiiiiighly recommend it!
my fave book of all time

Re: Japanese model RG with Lo TRS?

I HAVE that book. I read the first chapter and got too busy to finish. It started out action packed though...

Is there a movie of it?

WOW. We are waaaaaayyy off topic. That's cool though. I don't have much in common with the folks at fender forum. I should have come here years ago.

I re-wired the guitar. It was confusing because one of the pickups was a Bill Lawrence and the other a Bill Lawrence USA. Same thing right? Nope. The leads are all colored differently. I finally got it standard Jem wiring. Nice. Don't know if I plan to keep them. I have a Evo and a Hum from hell that might go in there. I seriously would go for the V7 V8 combo if I could find it cheap.
