Joe's NGD - Ibi Sabre

Ok so to stop him from stealing my guitars all the time, i scoured evilbastardBay and found an Ibanez Sabre, cheapish, but i though easy for my little one to learn to play on. However what i received was not in fact a sabre

It's a Lo-Pro AANJ Radius the paintwork is being left as it is at the moment, however, it'll end up Candy Red as soon as it starts to flake

Regards

So you bought a guitar without seeing a picture of it?
Looks cool, though the bridge has seen better days. Certainly enough of a guitar to learn on.

ofc not, that would be really silly, i had an inkling, but thought it made for a better story rather than the usual " got this rgXXX " thread.

the bridge is fine, the saddle screws are slightly rusty, and the baseplate is gunked to hell, but very little wear or pitting.

Whew! Glad it worked out. And am glad the bridge is in better shape than it looks. I will say, grim not withstanding, that I wish I had an ax like that for my first guitar.

Re: Joe's NGD - Ibi Sabre

Save's him stealing my universe lol, about all i worked out was it was a euro only Radius, and hoped no-one else bid, and they didn't

Just waiting on my 4th guitar to end up on the doorstep, and i'm not buying anything for awhile, unless a 7rb comes up, or a 7gr but nothing else, well maybe a 7pbk ... i stand no chance in holding off the GAS monster

Very cool. Great guitar to learn on. Yes the monster known as GAS never sleeps. It has been stalking me very closely lately!

Is that the new ENGL Raider?

How is it? I've tried one a couple of months ago, but only for a few minutes.
I'd like one to replace my Marshall combo. Wondering how it will hold up to my SE.

AANJ Radius, would mean it's an R540LTD, and those not that common.

Why would someone F*&^ up a guitar like that.

Re: Joe's NGD - Ibi Sabre

AANJ and SN are consistent with a 1993 radius. the LTD had shark tooth inlay.... this one does not, it may be a mutt, but after looking at the catalog for UK/ Europe for 1993 it is a R470BK, that someone painted to look like George lynch's guitar. check out the catalog section at ibanez.com. I agree that they should not have painted it but that is a nice guitar. nice pup config and i never cared for the shark tooth inlay.

great score at 220 USD!!!!! i bet you could polish up that bridge with a buffing wheel and some rubbing compound to make that thing shine.
