JPM necks!

I know i've asked this tons but i keep getting mixed answers

Some people have told me the JPM necks are Viper, some say it's Ultra. What actually is it?!

Is it more suited towards an older JEM (D-shaped and fatter then a wizzard or U shaped neck) or a JS (C shaped) or what?

Oh and also, if anyone knows about RG1550's neck. I always thought it was a prestige wizard neck (which is apparently thicker then normal wizzards) but i just read in an Ibanez cataloge that it's actually a super wizzard
I know it feels very thin to me but i never knew this. Anyone else that owns an RG1550 care to give info?

Cheers for an info

Re: JPM necks!

Ah great, someone that owns it! Cheers

I'm trying to find some sort of a diagram that has the neck outline in red of the JPM and the neck outline of a wizzard just to compare them. Any ideas where i could find this guys?

There's neck shapes (V, U, D, C etc) to take into account and for example the only difference between a "JPM" neck and a JEM neck is 1mm less on the nut and 22nd fret. Yet lots of people say it's completely different feel.

It's all a tad confusing haha

From the 1997 brochure:

Quote:
John Petrucci's signature model is based on the famous Ibanez RG model, but boasts some differences: a thicker Ultra neck, direct mounted DiMarzio pickups, and a special 3-way switch (..)
